Modis is currently seeking a qualified Cisco Certified Network Engineer for an exciting contract opportunity with our client in the downtown Chicago area. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The Cisco Network Engineer will be responsible for the design, installation, configuration and maintenance of LAN/WAN Networks, Security devices / Firewalls, Intrusion Detection / Protection systems and Wireless technologies. The ideal candidate must have minimum of 5-7 years hands-on experience with the design, implementation and maintenance of Cisco Routers/Switches, LAN/WAN Networks and Wireless technologies (Wireless Access Points). In addition, candidates must have demonstrated experience with the design, implementation, configuration and maintenance of Cisco, Nokia and /or Juniper Firewalls (ASA 5520 / PIX 525; CheckPoint, NetScreen), Intrusion Detection Modules (Snort, Nessus, Intellitactics), IDS/IPS, Firewall Logs and Syslog servers (Cisco MARS) |

REQUIRED SKILLS - Active Cisco Certification (CCNA, CCNP or CCIE Considered) - Additional CCDA/CCDP, CCVP and/or CCSP Certifications are highly preferred. - Strong Network Security focus with Cisco, Nokia and Juniper Firewalls - Hands-on experience with Intrusion Detection Systems (Snort, Nessus, Intellitactics) - Minimum 5-7 years hands-on experience with Cisco Routers & Switches, including router configurations - Strong BGP/ OSPF / EIGRP / MPLS Protocols - Experience with WAP / WiFi and Wireless protocols - Excellent customer interfacing skills a must |
